MY APPROACH

People deserve more than a generic insurance-based intervention which leaves them feeling blah about therapy.

I help clients to re-learn how to feel, deal and ultimately heal from the past and present on a deeper level, both emotionally and cognitively. This type of work ultimately empowers a healthier and more meaningful future.

I provide therapeutic practices that are tailored to each individual person based on their needs. For some this might be CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) or using coping skills such as breathing exercises or mindfulness techniques. For others it may mean assertiveness training or the freedom that comes from processing deep wounds from a person’s past through EMDR or IFS.

MY THERAPY SPECIALTIES

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) is a comprehensive and evidenced based therapy that helps people heal from trauma and other distressing life situations.

EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain caused by PTSD, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, pain, OCD and other issues. It is also used to enlarge our abilities to cope and perform in the future by creating memories to support people in peak performance, connecting with inner strengths, inspiration and success.

EMDR is designed to activate the brain’s natural healing process through alternating eye movements, taps or sounds.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is an evidenced based therapy that views the human mind as naturally multiple or containing parts. These parts have developed during our lifetime to protect us from trauma and other life distressing situations and thus contain valuable qualities.

In IFS, all parts are welcome, although often these parts have carried extreme beliefs from the time of occurrence such  as through attachment injury or trauma. Overseeing our parts is the job of our core Self which  knows how to heal, allowing us to integrate our parts into our whole Self.
